Toronto's streetcar system could be staring down a future of slow zones, service disruptions and potentially even condemned corridors if the service doesn't get more funding for track work, according to a new report.

The Toronto Transit Commission has an $11.9-billion funding shortfall for state-of-good-repair work over the next 15 years, according to a report before the TTC's strategic planning committee Thursday.

The transit agency is asking members of the committee to send the report on to council, the province and federal government, to highlight the "immediate critical capital priorities" for the TTC, the report says.
