Prime Video's live-action Tomb Raider adaptation has confirmed for the first time that "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner will be the next actress to play Lara Croft — and production on the new show is due to get underway in just a few months.
The long-gestating video game adaptation comes from "Fleabag" creator and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" star, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and, thanks to an update shared on the official Tomb Raider website, we now know the wheels are spinning up on Lara Croft's latest outing.
As per the announcement, we know shooting is due to get underway on January 19, 2026, and that Turner — who had been rumored for the role for some time — had finally been confirmed as the titular adventurer. She follows in the footsteps of Alicia Vikander and Angelina Jo
