Many Brooklyn restaurants, bars and cafes are taking part in the citywide celebration of outdoor dining.

Running from Sept. 5 to Sept. 12, Open Plan's Curbside Dining Restaurant Week highlights the benefits of curbside dining for small businesses and communities while pushing for reforms to make the program more accessible and sustainable.

“New Yorkers are hungry for vibrant public space; the immediate success of curbside dining proved that. But today, the program is floundering. Our restaurant week is a demonstration and celebration of how curb space can serve people, not just parked cars,” said Sara Lind, co-executive director at Open Plans.
