A children’s care home in Cumnock was placed in the spotlight during an unannounced inspection on its service provision.
Thistlebank Care Home Service was graded ‘very good’ across one quality indicator.
The grading comes from the Care Inspectorate who visited Thistlebank in August with the results now published.
Among the key messages the care scrutiny body said young people were cared for by staff who “knew them well.”
And staff had a “good understanding” of trauma informed practice which helped them support young people “effectively.”
The development of positive, trusting relationships was a “strength” of the service, while young people were encouraged to be part of planning their care and support.
The praise continued, staff supported young people to maintain r
