A violent stabbing spree has left one person dead and at least six others injured in Hollow Water First Nation early Thursday morning, according to Manitoba RCMP.
Police confirmed that the suspect is also deceased.
RCMP officers are currently on scene at multiple locations in the community, as well as on Highway 304 just south of Black River First Nation. The area remains active as officers work to determine the sequence of events and gather evidence.
"We have RCMP officers at scenes within the community as well as on Highway 304," RCMP said in a news release. "Our officers are gathering information to determine what exactly occurred this morning."
Few details have been released about the suspect or the victims, but police say more information will be provided early Thursday afternoon.
