With no jackpot winners since May, the estimated jackpot for the Powerball has climbed to $1.7 billion, making it the third-largest jackpot in Powerball history.

People across the state have been trying their luck by picking up a Powerball ticket. A number of people in Sacramento this week decided to visit a lucky store. Lichine's Liquor on South Land Park Drive is known as a lucky spot . In fact, the California Lottery once listed the store as the sixth-luckiest place in the state for winning $1 million or more.
