EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) — One of Edmond's busiest intersections will undergo construction as part of a major improvement project.
The City of Edmond will begin its $9 million project on the intersection of Danforth Road and Kelly Avenue starting Monday, September 8. Nearly 50,000 vehicles travel through the area each day, making it one of the 10 busiest intersections in Edmond, according to City officials.
"Danforth and Kelly had the highest number of crashes among all City of Edmond intersections in 2024," said City of Edmond officials.
The $9 million project is said to add dual left-turn lanes at each stop, while adding right-turn lanes on Danforth Road and southbound Kelly Avenue. Raised center medians will also be included to help with traffic safety and flow.
