SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Police were involved in a shooting Thursday morning in the area of the Cesar Chavez offramp off northbound Highway 101. According to the California Highway Patrol, a call came in at 11:22 a.m. regarding the incident.

The CHP has dispatched units to the scene. However, the CHP said the shooting occurred in the San Francisco Police Department's jurisdiction. SFPD confirmed it was investigating the incident and has advised the public to avoid the area.

An ambulance responded to the scene and one adult has been transported to the hospital, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Lanes 4 and 5 are blocked, as is the Cesar Chavez Street offramp, according to the CHP. Currently, there is no estimated time of reopening and drivers are advised to use alternate rou
