One of my biggest pet peeves is some people’s obsession with finding ‘plot holes’ in films, TV, and other stories. If it’s done in a lighthearted, self-aware way, then that’s one thing, but I’ve encountered so much of it—especially online—being done in a serious way, in lieu of actual substantive film analysis or critique, that over the years I’ve developed a real aversion to it.
