CAMBRIDGE, Minn. — A small plane crashed near Cambridge Municipal Airport on Thursday, resulting in the death of the pilot. Emergency services received a call at around 11:25 a.m., and the Cambridge Fire Department, Police Department, and Isanti County Sheriff's Office quickly responded to the scene.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified and will lead an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Further information will be provided once the investigation is concluded.
The City of Cambridge expressed its deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased. The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office will release the victim's identity and cause of death in the coming days.
