A Johnson County man has been appointed to serve on the Indiana Election Commission.

John Westercamp was appointed by Gov. Mike Braun last month to serve as one of the commission’s four members. His term expires on June 30, 2026, according to a news release from Braun’s Office.

Westercamp, a Republican, is one of two Johnson County residents serving on the commission. Beth Boyce, chair of the Johnson County GOP, was appointed to the commission earlier this year by Braun. Boyce serves as the commission’s chair, and her term lasts until June 30, 2027.

The other two members of the commission are Suzannah Wilson Overholt, a Democrat who’s been the commission’s vice-chair since July 2021 and a member since July 2012, and Karen Celestino-Horseman, a Democratic member since July 2021.
