Doogie Sandtiger claimed the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest Crocs collection in November 2024, but he couldn’t tell anyone until last week.

“To me, it's so healing,” said Sandtiger. “I missed out on so much of my life and it's like I'm rewriting my life now as an adult and reliving what kid me couldn’t.”

Sandtiger grew up in the foster care system in Connecticut and now works for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families .

He says he didn’t know how to tie his shoes growing up. And by the time he was 16 years old, he determined he was too old to ask an adult for help and opted to wear only slip-ons.
