Anita McBride, former first lady Laura Bush’s chief of staff, will visit Sweet Briar College on Sept. 15, the college announced Wednesday.
McBride is an author and director of American University’s First Ladies Initiative, which celebrates the legacy of U.S. first ladies, the news release said.
“McBride is an internationally recognized expert, frequent speaker and media commentator on the legacies of American first ladies and operations of the White House,” the release said.
It said she served two decades in senior roles in the White House and U.S. Department of State under Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.
