For the third weekend in a row, anti-illegal immigration protesters gathered outside an asylum hotel in Long Eaton with a similar number of counter-protesters also in attendance.

The rival demonstrators took to either side of the road outside the town’s Best Western hotel on Saturday (September 6) afternoon - with similar protests having taken place the past two weekends .

As police separated the groups on either side of Bostocks Lane, insults and chants were exchanged from a distance. But no direct violence appeared to take place during the time in which a Nottinghamshire Live reporter was at the scene.

Many in attendance on both sides noted that this weekend's turnout was bigger than past weeks, with a hefty police presence in place.
