HALIFAX – Nova Scotia’s Opposition NDP is raising the alarm for a group of tenants who have been without power in their downtown Halifax apartment building for 10 days.

Lisa Lachance, the legislature member for the area, says she’s met with tenants at The Scotian who have been without electricity in the five-storey building since Aug. 27.

Lachance says the frustrated tenants have received little help from their landlord other than advice that they should contact their insurance companies.

Tenant Teddie McKay says other than a few vague emails, there’s been a lack of communication from the owners of the building and no indication there will be any compensation for tenants.
