Cycling icon Sir Chris Hoy has provided a health update as he prepares to take part in his charitable cycling event the 'Tour de Four'. The six-time Olympic champion made an appearance on BBC Breakfast on Friday morning and spoke about his wellbeing ahead of the ride.
Hoy, who stands as Britain's second-most decorated Olympian, was given a prostate cancer diagnosis two years ago following shoulder pain. Unfortunately, Hoy has been told that his cancer is terminal, having spread to his bones and progressed to stage four.
He has previously revealed that medics have given him two to four years to live, yet he remains determined to embrace life fully. "Can we ask, on behalf of everyone, how you are?" enquired Breakfast presenter Charlie Stayt.
"I'm doing pretty well, thanks," responded Hoy.
