MARTINSBURG - Week 2 of the high school football season saw one of the biggest matchups of the year when Martinsburg hit the road to take on Huntington.
Much like last year's contest, this year's game did not disappoint, as the Bulldogs rallied in the second half but came up just short, falling 22-20 to the Highlanders and dropping to 0-2 for the first time since 2015.
Huntington built a 22-14 lead at halftime on a touchdown pass from Tayveon Wilson to Andreas Reese and two rushing touchdowns by Trevon Okonkwo of 8 yards and 1 yard.
Martinsburg, which had a 64-yard kickoff return for a touchdown from Boston Todd and a 26-yard scoring run from Brian Dick in the first half, held Huntington scoreless in the second half while it tried to mount a comeback in the final few minutes of the game
