A person is dead after a hit-and-run crash involving an alleged drunken driver late Friday near Old Colorado City, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The Police Department, Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Springs Fire Department went to the intersection of U.S. 24 and 26th Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. for a report of a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived, according to a police blotter post.
