State Sen. Sam Givhan (R-Huntsville) took the mainstream media to task on Thursday for consistently framing the achievements and efforts of President Donald Trump in a negative light, regardless of the subject.

During a discussion on "The Dale Jackson Show," the North Alabama lawmaker was asked for his take on why news sources are covering the commander-in-chief and, by extension, Republicans in such an unfavorable manner.

"The issue is, to me, everything that's Trump-related triggers the media," Givhan told Jackson. "They could be for something 100%. Then all of a sudden it's Trump's idea, and it's orange man bad, so I think that's what's ultimately driving this. Plus, they're driven by controversy, and they want to stir things up. "
