A man was pronounced dead at a hospital and another booked on charges following a Friday night collision in the 4300 block of North 27th Avenue, Phoenix police said.

The crash occurred about 8:40 p.m. Sept. 5, and officers arrived to find there was a collision involving a pedestrian and a semi-truck.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital but did not survive his injuries, police said.

“Detectives responded to the scene and learned that the driver was repositioning the truck when the passenger exited the truck and was hit,” authorities state
