ROWLAND — A project spanning across multiple counties will result in the closure of multiple railroad crossings in southern Robeson County beginning later this month.

CSX is performing a track maintenance project which includes resurfacing the asphalt at 17 crossing locations, including five in Robeson County.

The project will begin on Monday, Sept. 29. CSX anticipates the entire project will be completed within about two weeks, on or around Oct. 10. Individual crossings will not be closed for the entire duration of the project, but will be closed from two to five days while work is completed. CSX advises the public to keep in mind that these time frames are approximate and subject to change.
