Rutgers is down another contributor for the 2025 season.

Redshirt freshman defensive back Noah Shaw, who was set to play a role on special teams, suffered a season-ending injury in the Scarlet Knights’ season opener against Ohio, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media.

On his first snap of the season, Shaw sustained a non-contact injury while running down the field in kick-off coverage. He crumbled to the ground near the Ohio sideline, immediately grabbed his knee and pounded the turf in clear frustration.

Shaw is the sixth Scarlet Knight to sustain a season-ending injury this season.

Rutgers has 11 players listed as out in the availability report the program submitted ahead of its meeting with Miami of Ohio on Saturday (3:30 p.m., Peacock).
