A boy is dead after a shooting in a parking lot outside a house party in East Denver Friday night.

Police first said they were investigating a shooting in the 1100 block of North Syracuse Street on social media just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

They updated the thread at 9:18 a.m. Saturday to include that the victim, a juvenile, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Initial information indicates that the incident was related to a house party in the area that spread into a parking lot where the shooting took place, police say. No arrests have been made at this point.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the situation.
