RANDOLPH, Minn - The Minnesota State Patrol says alcohol use by a southeast Minnesota driver was involved in a fatal collision outside the Twin Cities.

It happened around 11 am Saturday on Highway 56 in Dakota County. The crash report says a 2016 Dodge Ram driven by Seth John Nechville, 28 of Kenyon, was northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 56 and crashed head-on with a southbound 2019 GMC Terrain driven by Peter Foxvong Olson, 68 of Apple Valley. The collision happened just south of the 292nd Street East intersection.

The State Patrol says Peter Olson and his passenger, Patricia Ann Olson, 49 of Apple Valley, were killed in the crash. Nechville suffered what are described as non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to Regions Hospital for treatment.
