Kansas suffered its first loss of the season in the 121st edition of the Border War vs. Missouri on Saturday, Sept. 6. The Jayhawks lost 42-31 in their first road game of the year.

Kansas jumped out to a 21-6 lead in the first quarter. Quarterback Jalon Daniels threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end DeShawn Hanika for the first touchdown of the game. After a Kansas defensive score, Daniels was able to add to their lead on a short rushing touchdown.

The offense would struggle after the first quarter. Kansas accumulated 123 yards of offense in the first period. They finished the game with just 254 yards in the loss.
