Boston Police report arresting two Brighton residents on charges they kept breaking into cars with blue handicap parking permits to steal and re-sell them.
Police, who say that 19 parking placards have been stolen out of cars in Allston/Brighton in recent months, say they pair had gotten so proficient at the crime they developed a division of labor: Andrea Doucette-Keating, 55 and a resident of the Fidelis Way development, would do the actual breaking in, while Zachary Shelton, 37, of one of the classic pre-war Comm. Ave. buildings a couple blocks up the street,served as "the organizer, supplier of tools, and distributor of the stolen placards." Among the tools he allegedly got for Doucette-Keating: A window punch, a device that allows for easy and quick entry by smashing a window.
