Quarterback Ty Simpson worked his way into Alabama football history against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The redshirt junior cemented himself in Crimson Tide history with 17 consecutive completions as he put together a perfect first half.
To build a 42-0 lead over ULM with 31 seconds left in the second quarter, Simpson delivered a deep ball to Isaiah Horton for a 29-yard touchdown and his 17th completion of the night, inching him closer to history. He finished the half 17-for-17 for 226 yards and three touchdowns passing.
According to the SEC Network, it marked the first time an Alabama quarterback has ever started a game with 17 straight completions and the first time an SEC quarterback had ever finished a game with 17 completions and no incomplete or intercepted pass
