Laurel, Miss. (WDAM) - Another man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Laurel that happened on June 15.

Jayvontae Nixon, 20, is now the 9th person to be arrested for the shooting death of Kenneth Dean.

Nixon is charged with murder and was arrested under a warrant. According to the Laurel Police Department, Nixon is believed to be the last of the suspects the department was looking for.

LPD tells us that a tip led to Nixon’s arrest.

Bond was denied by Judge Kyle Robertson in the Laurel Municipal Court on Friday. Nixon was previously arrested in November 2024 on assault charges.
