When I read dog stories, I’m reminded again and again how much kindness still exists in this world and how badly we need more of it.

But I’m also reminded every time just how much cruelty is out there, with people mistreating animals in ways that are impossible to understand.

This sweet Pittie is a heartbreaking example. Before being cast aside, she had already endured severe trauma.
