The Detroit Lions have locked up a key piece of their high-flying offence.
Detroit and wide receiver Jameson Williams agreed to a three-year, $83-million contract extension on Saturday, according to multiple reports.
The deal comes less than 24 hours before the Lions open their season against the Green Bay Packers.
Teammates and coaches have been raving about Williams’ off-season, coming off a breakout season. He had 58 receptions for 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns last year in his third NFL season.
The Lions have now locked up their top two receivers, as they signed Amon-Ra St. Brown to a four-year, $120-million extension in 2024.
