A man has been crushed to death in a shocking workplace incident at a freight handling terminal at Sydney Airport.
Emergency services rushed to the scene about 10.30am on Sunday after reports a freight handler had been struck by a vehicle at the terminal.
The male worker, believed to be aged in his 40s, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene, a NSW Police statement said.
Police personnel have since examined a crime scene that was set up.
Police said the incident was not being treated as suspicious, and SafeWork NSW had been notified.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The Daily Telegraph reported the man's head and chest were crushed by heavy machinery.
A Sydney Airport spokesperson said people at the airport were deeply saddened by Sunday's incident.
