When we first boarded Explora I for a nine-day cruise to Mexico and Central America, we were immediately struck by its mega-yacht feel.

The lobby is large, modern and sparkling with crystal and rich marble for a definite wow factor . T he ship has six specialty restaurants (with plenty of caviar), tons of modern art (including an Andy Warhol original), and the only Rolex store at sea.

In a short span of time, Explora Journeys has managed to become a significant player in the ultra-luxury cruise market, and we were beginning to see why.
