The other night, I went out – first to Hackney’s Moth Club, then to a nice pub in Newington Green that sold Perelló Gordal olives after I realised that I’d possibly aged out of the former – and saw one iconic item no fewer than three times. I’m referring to the Alexander McQueen skull scarf , a garment that was once so ubiquitous you couldn’t move for dupes. It then promptly disappeared in the early 2010s, before swishing its way back around necks and belt loops once again more recently.
