Gear up for a night of music royalty with MTV's Video Music Awards 2025.
The jam-packed ceremony, organized by the TV channel and music video pioneer, celebrates the top songs and music videos voted on by fans.
Nominations for this year's VMAs were announced Aug. 5 with pop icon Lady Gaga leading the list with 12 nods, including video of the year, artist of the year and best album, while her "Die with a Smile" collaborator, Bruno Mars, followed closely behind with 11 nominations.
Additionally, the ceremony's coveted awards, which include video of the year, artist of the year and song of the year, are being expanded with new career achievement prizes.
Mariah Carey is slated to receive the coveted Video Vanguard Award and will be performing a medley of her biggest hits live at the ceremony.
"The best-selling female artist of all time will return to the 'VMAs' stage for the first time in 20 years as she accepts the same award she presented to LL Cool J in 1997," MTV said in a news release.
