CHEYENNE — A Cheyenne Police officer collided with another vehicle, flipping the patrol vehicle while in pursuit of a speeder Friday morning.

According to Cheyenne Police Department Public Information Officer Alex Farkas, the officer had attempted to pull a driver over for speeding along Central Avenue.

Instead of yielding to the officer, the speeder accelerated away, engaging the officer in a pursuit.

The officer then followed the vehicle down Snyder Avenue. The officer was involved in a crash with another driver — who was not involved in the pursuit — near the intersection of Snyder Avenue and West Pershing Boulevard, flipping the police vehicle, Farkas said.
