CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two separate shootings in Charlotte early Sunday morning left two people dead and two others seriously injured, according to police.

The first shooting happened shortly after 1:15 a.m. in the 4000 block of Queen City Drive . Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers responding to an assault with a deadly weapon call found a victim with an apparent gunshot wound, police said. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Rogerick Llevon Currie, was then taken to a local hospital by Medic, where he was pronounced dead.

About an hour and a half later, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 200 block of Atando Avenue around 2:45 a.m. Charlotte police discovered two victims with apparent gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others, including a 17-ye
