An Ayrshire guide dog owner is calling for more to be done to keep streets clean after her dog was forced to have its toe amputated as a result of broken glass.
Ayr resident Sheena Holt said that there was "glass everywhere" in her home town and she feared that more vulnerable service dog users could lose their companions for months if they pick up injuries.
South Ayrshire Council have said that they "work hard" to keep the area clean and tidy but ask that the public "behave responsibly" and dispose of rubbish, including anything made of glass, properly.
