It’s been a dozen years since the Lansing State Journal had a change in editorial leadership. Today, I want to introduce you to senior local news editor Al Wilson, who’ll be stepping in to lead Team LSJ forward. I can assure you – the LSJ and local journalism are in good hands.
Wilson has an unwavering commitment to local news and a passion for accountability reporting. He’s a staunch advocate for public records access and open meetings.
Most of his 35 years in journalism have been spent in Greater Lansing with stints at Lansing Community Newspapers and the LSJ before a short detour to the Detroit News in 2020. He returned to the LSJ in 2022 to assume leadership of our local news coverage. He and his wife Diann have two adult children and have lived in Greenbush Township near St. Johns f
