The Met Office has updated its yellow weather warning, with Birmingham now caught under the alert area.

This morning, the West Midlands, Wales, southwest England and central southern England had all been issued a yellow weather alert by the authority, but this second warning has expanded the locations impacted.

Posting an update on social media, the Met Office confirmed the new yellow alert was in place from 12pm until 4pm today (Sunday, September 7).

They wrote: "Yellow weather warning issued.

"Thunderstorms across parts of the West Midlands, Wales, southwest England and central southern England."
