GREEN, Ohio (WJW) -- A crash overnight in the City of Green claimed the life of a teenager and is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to a news release from OSHP, troopers responded to S. Arlington Road just south of Lake Breeze Drive around 2 a.m. on reports of a crash.

Troopers said a Suzuki Kizashi was going south on S. Arlington when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the side of the road, hit a ditch and overturned several times.

According to the release, the driver, identified as a 17-year-old male, was the only occupant in the vehicle and was seriously injured.

He was taken to an Akron hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers said alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash, and he was not wearing a seatbelt.
