Runswick Bay is regarded as one of North Yorkshire's most coveted seaside destinations during the summer months, but when the crowds disappear and temperatures plummet, it becomes a vastly different location.

Some visitors fail to see the attraction and depart within an hour of arriving. The sloping hillside leading down to the beach, lined with charming cottages and holiday homes, wouldn't look out of place on a 'wish you were here' postcard, yet beyond that, there isn't much to see or do.
