After her one-hour, 34-minute win over Amanda Anisimova in the US Open final, Aryna Sabalenka celebrated her US Open title defense with a champagne bottle with her team in the locker room. The Belarusian finally heaved a sigh of relief after ending a Grand Slam tournament as a champion after two failures this season.

She was handed three-set defeats in the Australian Open and French Open finals by Madison Keys and Coco Gauff , respectively. With this win, Sabalenka has become the first WTA player to defend the US Open crown after Serena Williams (2014).
