GREEN, Ohio -- A 17-year-old driver died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Green where alcohol is believed to be a factor, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred around 2 a.m. on South Arlington Road, just south of Lake Breeze Drive. The teen was driving a 2011 Suzuki Kizashi southbound when he lost control of the car, authorities said.

According to investigators, the vehicle veered off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, and overturned multiple times. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Akron City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities did not release the identity of the driver.
