GLENWOOD, W.Va. –One man was arrested after a domestic dispute led to another man’s death Saturday in Mercer County.

Eric Halsey, 39, is charged with murder. According to a news release, deputies had responded to a call of domestic in progress at a house on Ive Street in the Glenwood area.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a fight had occurred between Halsey and the victim. Deputies say witnesses told them that Halsey allegedly grabbed a glass ash tray and struck the victim in the head several tomes before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to WVU Princeton Community Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Halsey was later located and taken into custody. He is being held at the Southern Regional Jail until to await arraignment.
