Staff and students across Rainbow Schools will wear pink on Thursday, Sept. 11, as the Rainbow District School Board marks the beginning of the school year with a renewed focus on safe and inclusive learning environments.

“For 18 years, we’ve recognized Stand Up Against Bullying Day at the start of each school year,” board chair David Farrow said in a release. “Wearing pink has become a powerful symbol of our shared commitment to keeping schools safe.”

Farrow said that Rainbow Schools aim to nurture not only independent learners but also responsible and respectful citizens. “We build character and community,” he said, “by teaching students to care about each other and the world around them.”
