Since his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis just over a year ago, walking has become more difficult for Charlie McClure.

But that wasn’t going to stop him from joining family and friends at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park in Owen Sound for the annual Walk for Parkinson’s on Saturday.

“We want to raise money and awareness because we want this to get better,” McClure said Saturday afternoon under the gazebo at the park. “The more people that know about it, the more that will happen.”

McClure, who is from Owen Sound, said he doesn’t feel pain from the disease, but his body just isn’t able to do what it did before. He takes medications to control his symptoms.
