JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — A former Jefferson Parish Public School System employee has been charged with allegedly sexually abusing a female student.

As our partners at report, Phabion Woodard, 27, of New Orleans, was charged on August 28 with molestation of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

The alleged abuse occurred in 2023 while Woodard worked at Riverdale High School in Old Jefferson. The victim is a 16-year-old female student.

Authorities arrested Woodard on January 29, 2024. He was released from jail the following day on a $50,000 bond.

Woodard is scheduled to be arraigned on October 27.
