Michigan football plunged eight spots in this week’s Associated Press Top-25 poll following the frustrating loss to Oklahoma on Saturday night.

The Wolverines fell to No. 23 in the poll released by the media on Sunday, just short of being dropped from the rankings altogether.

It was the second straight week Michigan (1-1) has fallen in the AP Top 25, after being ranked No. 14 in the preseason and No. 15 last week after a 34-17 win over New Mexico.

Ohio State remained at No. 1, followed by Penn State at No. 2 and LSU at No. 3, with Oregon moving up two spots to round out the top four.

Elsewhere in the top 10, Georgia slipped two spots to No. 6, Notre Dame ticked up one spot to No. 8 and two newcomers joined the party: Illinois at No. 9 and Florida State at 10.
