FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are searching for a driver accused of hitting an 8-year-old boy with a vehicle Friday night and fleeing the scene, leaving the child injured in an apartment complex parking lot.

Fort Worth Police said they were called to investigate a hit-and-run crash occurred around 7:53 p.m. Friday at Mercantile Square apartments. That's where 8-year-old Liam Park was riding his bicycle with friends when he was struck by what witnesses described as a black SUV.

"It was blasting music while it was driving," Liam said, recounting the moments before the collision that left his vision fuzzy and his body covered in road rash.
