KINGSTON, N.Y. — Ceil Savona, who will be retiring later this month after running Savona’s Plaza Pizza for the past 43 years, has never stopped caring for her customers.

When you’ve been in the restaurant business as long as she has, Savona knows how to cater to her clientele. As she was walking out of her restaurant on Thursday, Aug. 21, to pose for a photo for the Freeman in front of the popular eatery, Savona stopped at a table when she saw a Kingston police officer having lunch and asked about his recent vacation.

It’s the kind of relationship Savona has developed with her customers over the years. Many have been coming to her business for decades.
